It’s a new day and I’m on my way to the office.
Yesterday’s commute was a tough one, but I made it home relatively unscathed.
This morning I am ensuring that my day begins on a better note. Literally.
I am listening to the Canadian Cast Recording of The Phantom of the Opera. This soundtrack has a way of settling my soul. I had forgotten.
When I was in the seventh grade we went on a class trip to Toronto to see Phantom. It was the beginning of my love of theatre and solidified my love of musical theatre and live music.
I so admire musicians who perform live for an audience. It requires such amazing talent, skill and passion and I am grateful to my teachers for encouraging us to experience and appreciate it.
Music has such power. It can soothe, excite, passify and transport.
So for now, I will sit back and enjoy the magic and wonder that is “The Music of the Night”.
