Words for a Cloudy Monday

The sun will come out tomorrow.
Promise

You don’t often have to go too far to be reminded of the little positive things in life that are all around you.

I received a “Thanks, but no thanks” email last night just as I was getting snuggly-warm in my bed and I grappled with writing a post about it right then and there.

It was going to be something about keeping my chin up and all that jazz, but my heart just wasn’t in it. That, and it was waaaay passed my bedtime. I decided to sleep on it.

I got up and decided that I would write a post when I got to work. I needed to give my brain some breathing room. And as I drove, I felt the heaviness of the dark and thick, rain-laden clouds pressing down all around. Strange, I thought. The forecast hadn’t called for rain today, and this looked like a storm was brewing.

As I got closer to the train station the clouds began to thin and the sun was beginning to rise. Even the heaviness in the atmosphere started to lift.

I got into the platform and I saw today’s installment of mobile art and it spoke directly to me.

It said, essentially, this too shall pass. Rejection is part of the business and you just have to keep at it.

It’s bittersweet. Rejection kinda sucks. There’s no getting around that. But on the other side of that same coin, I am still submitting and getting my words out there. The only way to get published is to keep submitting, and that’s what I am doing.

So, while it may be cloudy and the atmosphere around you may be heavy, “Look to the Sun”.
