Playlists and Other Dangerous Goods

Tears prick my eyes

Years pass like shock waves through my body

Time, a sucking wound, in the center of my soul

So unassuming, who knew it could be a weapon

It pours over me, molten, melting away barriers

Nerves exposed and vulnerable

I acknowledge my strength, my insignificance

I am humbled

Varied, exciting and at times morose

It tells the story of me

Piece by piece

Moment by moment

In those tears, there is searing pain

But in those tears, there is also incredible joy

I am uplifted

Trembling fingers wipe away salty brooks

Though rocked, I continue to compile the list

The power of music must never be underestimated
