Happy Book Birthday!

The Violence of Fire turns 1!

The Violence of Fire turns 1 this week!

That is a heckuva statement. I can hardly believe it has been a whole revolution around the sun since my very first book written in my own name was released into the world. I am immensely proud to say Happy Book Birthday to The Violence of Fire!

It’s been an interesting year, that’s for sure. The world slowed right down as we tried – and continue to try – to deal with an illness sweeping the globe and all the long lasting implications thereof. The world wasn’t filled with the daily distractions of everyday life and it allowed people, who may not have otherwise paid much attention, to take notice of the long-standing and continued struggle for equality of their fellow humans. Families came together to find ways to educate young people and to work (if they were able), either from home or on the front lines in all manner of industries from grocery stores to hospitals, and we all tried – and continue to try to stay safe.

This reality served as the backdrop for the last 6 months in my attempt to market this book. Needless to say, the in person events I would have attended were cancelled, as were some virtual events. That, coupled with the painful reality that I am not good at self-promotion (I wrote a post about it, but couldn’t bring myself to post it. Telling? I think so) meant I did not do much marketing at all.

I was able to work on a number of other projects, and I am excited to be able to share those with you in due course, but today is about Phillip and Brianne.

I am very happy to have been able to bring to life this creepy tale of obsession and I hope you check it out for your Fall reading. It is definitely a thick sweater and socks kind of book, that may make you look at your colleagues a little differently.

If you were a fan of the Netflix hit You, this book is for you!

You can pick up your copy at Let’s Talk About Books in Cobourg, Ontario, or order a signed copy from my online store!

The Violence of Fire is also available in paperback and ebook on Amazon.

You can read it for free by signing it out of the Clarington Public Library, or the Chatham Kent Public Library or with Kindle Unlimited.

I hope you will check it out!
