It can be a little overwhelming to keep pace with the "write every day" ideology. It took me a moment to realize that a writer's work is not just putting words in the page. While that is definitely an important part of it, it is also doing research, it's editing, it's spending countless hours formatting - and reformatting, and it's also taking a moment or two to formulate concepts, characters, and emotions. Once I truly realized that, the guilt I had been feeling for not writing on any particular day began to dissipate. Not to say that it's not a struggle sometimes, but I am learning not to be so hard on myself. Take a moment to value all of the things you do as a writer that don't necessarily involve putting pen to paper. That's work. Lastly, and most importantly, don't neglect your imagination machine. If it needs to recharge, take the time. Stop, and stare out the window. Who knows, you might see something that will spark a whole new adventure. #writerslife #writersofinstagram #dreamchasing
